On October 10-13, 2019, the 15th Annual Meeting of the World Association for xenotransplantation was held in Munich, Germany. Professor Wang Wei, cell transplantation center of Xiangya Third Hospital, Central South University, was invited to attend the meeting and gave an important lecture.
 
This conference covers several hot topics, such as "basic research on xenotransplantation", "transplantation immunity", "cell transplantation image", "safe donor pig" and "current situation of xenotransplantation". It invited Professor Leo B ü hler, President of the world society for xenotransplantation, and Bruno, director of Wolter brundel experimental medical center, University of Munich More than 40 well-known experts and scholars in the field of xenotransplantation, including Professor reichar and Professor Eckhard wolf, director of the animal center of the University of Munich Gene Center, conducted academic exchanges around the important xenotransplantation directions of heart, kidney and islet cells, and held about 100 lectures. As a pioneer of xenotransplantation research in China, Professor Wang Wei was invited to give a special lecture on "clinical islet xenotransplantation in China". Professor Wang Wei's team made three oral speeches and nine wall newspaper presentations at the conference. Ma Xiaoqian, an associate researcher, won the "science award of International Transplantation Association" awarded by the conference, becoming one of the ten winners in the world and the only one in China.
